USC Cross Country Heads to Riverside for UCR Invitational

Four freshmen are set to run their first 6k collegiate race.
RIVERSIDE, Calif. — The USC cross country team is set to compete the full 6k distance for the first time this season at the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday morning. The race is set for 7:15 a.m. on the UCR Agricultural Operations Course.
The Women of Troy opened the season with a second place finish at the Pepperdine Waves Invite on Sept. 4. Freshman Monserrat Santillan Silva led the Trojans with second place overall in her collegiate debut. Also making their Trojan debuts were Emilia Gonzalez, Ally Sparno and Ivanka Malysheva.
Abigail Feldman is expected to make her collegiate debut this Saturday with Malysheva, Santillan Silva, Sparno and Paige Unger all returning to the course. The Trojans competed twice on the Ag Ops Course last season, finishing 23rd at the UCR Invitational and 18th at the Highlander Invitational.
