Overview

Since the inception of the basketball program in 1907, the Trojans compiled a record of 1,729-1,280 (.575), winning 14 conference championships. Those championships wouldn’t have happened without the help of these 22 All-Americans, which includes some of the Trojan greats like Bill Sharman, John Rudometkin, John Block, Paul Westphal, Gus Williams, Harold Miner and Sam Clancy. Along with our All-Americans, seven Trojans have been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and they are Sharman, Westphal, Jack Gardner, Alex Hannum, Tex Winter, and coaches Sam Barry and George Raveling. Most recently, Rudometkin was inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame.

This historic program was guided by some of the best in the sport, starting with Hall of Famer Sam Barry. Barry (1930-41, 1945-50) has USC’s winningest record, going 260-138 (.653) during his time as a Trojan. George Raveling, who was an assistant for the 1984 and 1988 U.S. Olympic teams, took over in 1987 and led Troy into the postseason four times. A few short years later, Henry Bibby took over the program from 1996 to 2005, guiding the Trojans to three NCAA Tournament berths, topped by an Elite Eight run in 2001. Tim Floyd, who coached from 2005 to 2009, turned the program around, leading his team to three-straight 20-win seasons that also resulted in NCAA Tournament berths. The last coach prior to the Musselman era was Andy Enfield, who served as USC’s head coach from 2014 to 2024. He led Troy to five NCAA appearances while setting the school record for most wins in a season with 26 in 2017 and matched it again in 2022.

USC Men’s Basketball now heads into its second season in the Big Ten Conference under Head Coach Eric Musselman, who took his team to the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Crown last season. The team looks to build off momentum from last season, as , as the Trojans took down programs like No. 7 Michigan State and No. 13 Illinois.
