THIS YEAR:Â Senior Janiah Brown is in her second season as a distance runner for USC. Â She transferred to USC from Mt. SAC before the 2021-22 season.
2021: Brown competed in USC’s first two cross country meets.  She posted a 5K PR of 19.29.6 at the Mark Covert Classic on Sept. 4.  She had a time of 22:45.2 at the UC Riverside Invitational on Sept. 18, her first career 6K race.  During the outdoor track and field season she set her 400m, 800m and 1500m personal bests, with her 800m and 1500m times ranking second among all Trojan women.  Her 400m PR was 56.06 to finish fifth at the Stanford Invitational on April, her 800m PR was 2:06.04 to place fourth at the Mt. SAC Relays on April 15 and her 1500m PR was 4:32.42 to win at the Triton Invitational on April 9.
BEFORE USC:
Brown competed at Mt. SAC for two seasons. Â Finished fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:15.01 at the 2020 Beach Opener. Â Took second in the 1500m with a time of 4:55.61 at the 2020 Beach Opener Community College Meet. She also competed in cross country with a best 5K time of 21:33.2 and a best 3.1 mile time of 19:15.3.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Brown graduated from Oaks Christian in Westlake Village, Calif. in 2019. Â She had an 800m best of 2:12.01.
