THIS YEAR: Senior Ahnyx Bush is in her second season as a jumper on the USC track and field team, after two seasons at Mt. SAC
2024: Bush competed in five outdoor meets during her first season as a Trojan. She set her long jump PR with a jump of 19-4.00/5.98m (+2.0) at the Trojan Invitational on March 23. She had a season best in the triple jump of 40-0.00/12.19m (+1.5) to place sixth in the event at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 28. She competed in three indoor meets and set her indoor PR of 38-2.75 (11.65m) in the triple jump at the Ted Nelson Invitational on Jan. 20.
BEFORE USC: Bush competed two seasons for Mt. SAC. She set a PR and the school triple jump record with a jump of 41-3.75/12.59m (+1.1) to win the 3C2A state triple jump title in 2023…she also placed second in the long jump with a then personal-best leap of 19-1.25/5.82m (+1.8). She helped lead Mt. SAC to the 2023 state 3C2A titles, Mt. SAC’s second consecutive state team title. At the 2023 meet, Bush was named the Women’s Field Athlete of the Meet.
HIGH SCHOOL: Bush is a 2021 graduate of Temecula Valley HS in Temecula, Calif. As a senior she had a PR of 37-5.50 in the triple jump and a season best of 17-6.50 in the long jump. Her high school PR in the long jump was 18-3, set as a junior.
PERSONAL: Ahnyx was born on Nov. 11, 2003 in San Diego, Calf…Her mother is Alisha Gregory…Her siblings are Jayna Bush and Kaycie Bowens…Likes to sing and serves on the praise and worship team at her home church…Her hobbies include listening to music and taking walks…Her favorite musicians are Jhene Aiko and Billie Eilish…Favorite foods are pasta and sushi…Someday would like to travel to South Korea and Japan…After USC would to become a professional athlete and seek a career as an anesthesiologist…She is majoring in Health and Human Sciences.
