THIS YEAR:
Graduate transfer Alfredo Reina Corona is in his first season as a distance runner on the USC track and field team, after competing at UT-Arlington from 2021-24.
BEFORE USC:
Reina Corona is a graduate transfer distance runner from UT-Arlington. He has PRs of 3:48.33 in the 1500m, 4:06.76 in the one-mile race and 14:58.15 in the 5000m. He placed second in the mile race at the 2023 WAC Indoor Championships with a time of 4:07.48 and was part of the winning DMR team which ran 10:01.81 at the 2024 WAC Indoor Championships. Reina Corona competed at the 2021 and 2022 NCAA South Central Region Cross Country Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Reina Corona is a 2021 graduate of Haltom High in Haltom City, Texas. As a senior he placed second with a time of 9:14.13 in the 3200m race at the 6A Texas high school championships and seventh in the 1600m with a time of 4:22.19.
PERSONAL:
Alfredo was born on April 8, 2003 in Haltom, Texas…His mother is Lucia Reina and he has one brother, Paul...His favorite musical artists are Adalberto Santiago, Steve Vai, Maelo Ruiz and Muse…His favorite foods are molé, ropa vieja and carne en su jugo…After school he would like to work for a vehicle/race car company as a software developer...Reina Corona is a Computer Science major at USC.
