THIS YEAR:
Sophomore transfer Edward Nketia (N-Kay-tee-uh) is in his first season as a sprinter on the USC track and field team, after one season of playing football at Hawai’i at Manoa.
BEFORE USC:
Nketia comes to USC as a sophomore transfer student after spending the 2023-24 season at Hawai’i at Manoa as a wide receiver on the football team. He did not appear in any games. He also attended the University of Canberra in Bruce, Australia.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Nketia is a 2019 graduate of Scots College in Wellington, New Zealand. He owns the New Zealand 100m record with a time of 10.08 and holds his nation’s U20 200m record with a time of 20.76. He also has competed for Australia, winning the 2019 Australian Athletics national 100m title with a time of 10.22 as an 18-year-old. Nketia is a three-time New Zealand 100m champion (2019, 2020, 2022) and two-time 200m champion (2020, 2022). He ran his PR of 10.08 to reach the semifinals of the 2022 World Athletics Championships. He also competed at the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships in the 100m
