Muni He, a top amateur with an immense amount of top-level experience, joins the 2016-17 Trojans as a freshman early enrollee who will immediately challenge for a starting spot.
HIGH SCHOOL:
He, homeschooled after previously attending Torrey Pines High in San Diego, entered USC with an accomplished golf resume filled with amateur appearances at pro events as well as top junior finishes while of high school age ... A 2016 Rolex Junior All-American first teamer, she reached the round of 64 in both the 2016 U.S. Women's Amateur as well as the 2016 U.S. Girls' Junior while posting top 7 finishes at the AJGA Thunderbird International Junior, the AJGA ANNIKA Invitational and the Yani Tseng Invitational ... She played as an amateur at the 2016 Reignwood LPGA Classic, tying for 30th at 8-under 284 (74-69-71-70), and was fourth at the China Team Championship. She also played as an amateur at the 2016 Hyundai China Ladies Open and 2016 Omega Dubai Ladies Masters in December but did not make the cut in either event ... In 2015, Muni was the Polo Junior Classic Champion. In 2015, she played in the 2015 U.S. Women's Open, one of just four amateurs who made the cut, finishing with a 288 (68-74-73-73). Also in 2015, she played the Blue Bay LPGA, the Hyundai China Ladies Open, earned the fourth seed in the U.S. Girls' Junior and made match play at the U.S. Amateur. She was a 2014 Rolex Junior All-American honorable mention pick.
