THIS SEASON:
Shelcie Takenouchi, a 2008-2009 senior, is in her final year as one of Troy[apos]s hardest workers who provides depth to an already strong lineup. SUMMER OF 2008:
Takenouchi was a top 5 finisher at the Lakewood Women[apos]s Championship, was 14th at the L.A. Women[apos]s Golf Championship and was 28th at the Long Beach Women[apos]s City Championship. 2007-2008:
Takenouchi played in two events as a 2008 junior, tying for 79th at the Kent Youel Invitational and taking 79th at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. SUMMER OF 2007:
Takenouchi finished among the top 15 in the Lakewood Women[apos]s City Championship and among the top 20 in the Long Beach Women[apos]s City Championship. 2006-2007:
Takenouchi competed in one event as a 2007 sophomore, taking 64th at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational. SUMMER OF 2006:
Takenouchi placed 10th at the Long Beach Women[apos]s City Championship. 2005-2006:
Takenouchi competed in three events as a 2006 freshman, posting a season-best tie for 57th at the Northrop Grumman Challenge. BEFORE USC:
Shelcie Takenouchi came to USC from Kauai High in Lihue, Hawaii ... In the summer before joining the Women of Troy, she was second in the Hawaii State Women[apos]s Golf Association Match Play ... She was sixth at the Hawaii High School Athletic Association championships in 2005 and was second in the boys[apos] flight of the Kauai Junior Golf Association Summer Challenge. PERSONAL:
Shelcie Takenouchi was born on June 16, 1987. She is majoring in communications ... She is the daughter of Glen and Karen. PERSONAL NOTES
* Most thrilling moment in sports: Watching every home football game in the student section!
* Favorite pastime: Having picnics on the beach with family and friends back home in Kauai.
* Favorite music: Hawaiian, R&B, pop, rap.
* Favorite food: Asian cuisine and 'local' food from Hawaii.
* Dream foursome: Me, my dad, my mom and my brother.
* My favorite thing about USC: The awesome school spirit.
* Post-college ambition: To work in public relations for the LPGA/PGA or for a well-established golf resort.
* Biggest lesson golf has taught me: Don[apos]t dwell on small disappointments; A winner isn[apos]t determined by how often you win, but by how well you handle defeat. CAREER NOTES
