Maddy Martins, Psy.D., has been a clinical sport psychology postdoctoral fellow for USC Athletics since August of 2020.
She completed her one-year pre-doctoral internship and one year of advanced training at the Arizona State University Counseling Services (2018-20), where Maddy worked with both the general student population and athletics.
She received her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology- Exercise Science from Fresno State, then a master’s degree in sport psychology from Long Beach State. Maddy completed her doctorate in clinical psychology in 2020 from Midwestern University, Glendale, where she was also awarded a master’s in clinical psychology in 2018.
Her professional interests include sport psychology, performance enhancement, injury recovery, student-athlete adjustment, depression, anxiety, team dynamics and culture, consultation and outreach, and trauma-informed therapy. Maddy practices with an integrative approach of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic short-term therapy.
Maddy was born and raised in Orange County, CA. She received a scholarship to ride equestrian at Fresno State, and still rides when she can for self-care. She loves all sports but baseball currently takes the lead (Go A's!). Maddy and her husband have two spoiled old pups, Ruccus and Ashton.
