Carley Pennington enters her second season at USC as a proven option in the goal for the Women of Troy.
2011
Pennington started the final six games of the year as a freshman, recording three shutouts and accumulating a 4-2-0 record... Made 19 saves and allowed nine goals in those six appearances... Set her career best with six saves vs. UCLA... First appearance was an Oct. 14 win at Washington... Goals-against average was 1.49 and save percentage was .679.
HIGH SCHOOL: Pennington was a two-time all-league honoree out of St. Lucy[apos]s Priory in Glendora, Calif.... Team won league title in 2009... Named team MVP in 2009 and 2010... Played club for Arsenal, Legends and Real SoCal... Won 2010 regional championship and 2011 state championship with Real SoCal.
PERSONAL: Pennington is majoring in psychology... Parents are Debra and Chris... Has one sister, Paige... Enjoys going to the river in her free time... Lists Vince Lombardi as her biggest sports hero... Has always wanted to skydive, and would like to travel to New Zealand... Born Dec. 15 1992.
