Kelly Wimmer enters her sophomore season as a libero with the Women of Troy.
2013
As a freshman, Wimmer appeared in six matches and a total of six sets... recorded two digs in her collegiate debut against Alabama A&M (Aug. 31).
HIGH SCHOOL
Wimmer prepped at Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, Calif.... as a senior in 2012, helped her team to the semifinals of the CIF Central Coast Section and third place at the Milpitas Spikefest... as a junior, helped her team to the CCS title and a runner-up finish for the CIF NorCal championship... took her JV team to the second of back-to-back West Catholic Athletic League titles... a four-year Saint Francis Scholar-Athlete and four-time recipient of high honors with above a 3.5 grade-point average.
CLUB VOLLEYBALL
Wimmer played for Vision Volleyball Club in Los Gatos, Calif., under head coach Jason Mansfield... qualified for an open bid to the Junior National Championships with the 18s and helped her team finish second in the region and fourth at the Reno Tournament... helped her 17s squad qualify for the open division at junior nationals and a fourth-place finish at the Spokane qualifier... helped 16s team to third place at the Los Angeles qualifier.
PERSONAL
Kelly Wimmer was born on May 17, 1995, in Mountain View, Calif.... father is Gary Wimmer... sister Rachel Wimmer (21) was on the USC women[apos]s soccer team in 2011... father played linebacker at Stanford (1979-82) and in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks (1983)... plans to major in journalism.
