LOS ANGELES (AP) - Brandon Granville scored 20 points as Southern California dominated Loyola Marymount, coasting to a 96-55 victory Saturday.
Brian Scalabrine had 16 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists and Jeff Trepagnier added 17 points and eight rebounds for USC.
The Trojans' (5-4) first four baskets were dunks and the team used an 18-4 run to command a 27-11 lead in the game's first seven minutes.
The Trojans stretched their lead to 51-20 with 3:34 left in the first half and were up 56-23 by halftime. USC held the lead for the entire game and was up by as many as 47 points in the second half.
Curtis Slaughter led the Lions (1-5) with 13 points and Pablo Machado had 11 rebounds and seven points.
USC head coach Henry Bibby attributed the win to the team's aggressive playing style.
"I thought we played hard and tried to play hard the whole game," Bibby said. "We did get some easy baskets, but we turned up the defense and were able to take advantage of some fast breaks."
The Trojans held the Lions to 23.7 percent shooting from the field, including just four of 23 shots in the second half.
