Stadler Finishes Second At Northwest Classic

Corvallis, Ore. - Sophomore Kevin Stadler shot 214 (73, 69, 72) to finish in a second-place tie among individuals as the USC men's golf team commenced its 1999 fall season with a fifth-place showing at the Northwest Classic in Monroe, Ore., on Tuesday (Sept. 14).
The Trojans shot 886 (tied with Pacific and the Oregon State "B" team) to finish 24 strokes behind first-place Oregon State, the tournament host. UCLA came in second, Oregon third and San Diego State finished fourth (two strokes ahead of USC).
Stadler's second-round of 69 was his lowest round as a Trojan. Freshman David Oh shot 219 (74, 70, 75) to land in 10th place in his USC debut. Senior Nick Webb finished tied for 30th at 225 (73, 76, 76), while sophomore John Ray Leary shot 230 (75, 78, 77) to finish tied for 45th. Junior Nick Jones shot 238 (81, 76, 81) and ended up tied for 63rd.
The Trojans play next at the University of New Mexico's "Tucker Intercollegiate" at the UNM Golf Club in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Oct. 1-2 (Saturday and Sunday).
