USC Men’s Golf Wraps up Fall Season at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational
October 14, 2026 | Men's Golf
The Trojans aim to improve on their third-place finish at this tournament last year.
ALPHARETTA, Ga. — The USC men's golf team will finish the fall season at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational, held at the Golf Club of Georgia from Oct. 16-18.
The Trojans will play one round per day at the par-72, 7,017-yard course, starting Friday at 6 a.m. PT. Live scoring links via Scoreboard will be provided on the men's golf team's schedule page on usctrojans.com.
This year's field at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational features two teams in the first Scoreboard team rankings of the season: the hosting No. 15 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the No. 24 Clemson Tigers. Boston College, Charlotte, Duke, Georgia Southern, LMU, Northwestern, Pepperdine, Stanford, UAB, UCLA and Virginia round out the 14-team field.
At this tournament last year, USC placed third with an 857 (-6), trailing only then-No. 2 Virginia and Duke. Antonio Safa was the Trojans' top finisher with a shared 14th-place finish, while Jaden Dumdumaya performed the best out of any USC returner in a shared 18th-place finish. Jack Buchanan and Nicolas Dominguez are the other three lineup players from this tournament returning this season.
USC will roll out the same lineup that placed second at the Trinity Forest Invitational last week: Buchanan, Dominguez, Dumdumaya, Deitrek Gill and Joshua Hong. That second-place result was the team's best finish of the fall. As a team, the Trojans have improved their finish in all three tournaments so far.
Gill, a transfer from Pacific, has been a consistent leader for USC in two tournaments this season. He is coming off a second-place finish at the Trinity Forest Invitational in which he fired a 204 and carded his best round as a Trojan with a 64 (-8) in the first round. Fellow upperclassman Dominguez is off to the best start of a season in his collegiate career with a team-best three top-10 finishes. He and Gill tie the team lead with five rounds in the 60s.

HEAR FROM THE LINEUP:
Junior Jack Buchanan: "I think we were expecting ourselves to play a bit better. But we haven't strung it together just yet, and there's one more event left in the fall. We've historically played quite well at the Golf Club of Georgia, so I think we're all quite excited to get out there this week and put a good week together."
Junior Jaden Dumdumaya: "In the fall, we've definitely been stacking a lot of hard days lately. We're continuing to work hard, improve our work ethic and strive to achieve the goals that we've created for the fall. We're going to continue to keep on working hard, keep staying in it and just keep the passion for the game."
Graduate Student Deitrek Gill: "A lot of my success is because of surrounding myself with my teammates. I get pushed every day out here. They're great players. The coaches have been great at pushing us. I think it's just a great culture here to help me get the best out of my game. I feel really good about my game right now, so I'm just hoping to put three good rounds together and be in contention down the stretch."
Sophomore Joshua Hong: "For this last tournament, I've been hitting the ball pretty well the other three tournaments, so I'm just trying to focus more on the putting. I'll be concentrating more on my putts since coach made me practice more of those. I'm excited. I think my preparation has been pretty good."
