Austin, TX - The No. 10 USC men's golf team shot a final-round 304 on Tuesday to finish in seventh place at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate held at Austin Country Club.
The Trojans shot a three-round total of 899, 16 strokes behind tourney host and team champion Texas (883). Pepperdine was second (886), followed by Texas Christian (891), New Mexico (892) and Oklahoma (894).
Senior Kevin Stadler led the way for Troy, shooting a two-over-par 218 to finish seventh, eight strokes back of individual champion John Klauk of Texas (210). Randy Creighton of Pepperdine was second (212), followed by Hunter Mahan of Oklahoma State and Adam Rubinson of TCU in second (214) and Michael Letzig of New Mexico and Michael Beard of Pepperdine in fifth (217).
Also for USC, freshman Ben Hayes tied for 23rd (225), junior Chris Botsford tied for 29th (227), junior David Oh tied for 52nd (232) and freshman Nico Bollini tied for 59th (235).
The Trojans are next in action at the Thunderbird/Savane Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz., on April 12-13.
