Junior Tom Glissmeyer and freshmen Tim Sluiter and Matthew Giles were tabbed PING All-America honorable mention picks the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Friday (June 6), complimenting the first-team selections of Jamie Lovemark and Rory Hie made earlier this week.
The five All-America selections are the most in one season in USC's storied history and the most of any team this year. Oklahoma State and Georgia had a combined four players named All-Americans.
Lovemark and Hie also marked the first time USC had two All-American first teamers in one season. Lovemark was also an All-American in 2007. USC's other four All-Americans are all first timers.
USC second-year Head Coach Chris Zambri was named earlier this week the 2008 GCAA Coach of the Year after guiding the Trojans to four wins on the season and a third-place finish at the NCAA Championships. Troy finished just two strokes out of first, its closest finish in program history.
