
USC Set For The Prestige At PGA West

The No. 9 USC men's golf team is set for its third event in less than a month as it stays in state for the 2009 The Prestige at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif., Sunday through Tuesday (Oct. 11-13).
In addition to USC, the field this year includes Central Florida, Hawai'i, Long Beach State, Pepperdine, Notre Dame, San Diego, Stanford, TCU , UC Davis, UCLA, Washington and Vanderbilt.
The PGA West course is 7,206 yards and a par 72. Action will begin Sunday and Monday with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The shotgun start Tuesday begins at 8 a.m.

In the Trojans' season-opening event, USC tied for eighth at the 2009 Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational. Giles tied for 10th while Trainer tied for 19th. The Trojans were then seventh at the PING/Golfweek Invitational. Trainer led USC with a tie for 12th.
