USC Wraps Up Play At Ping/Golfweek Preview

A tough first outing came to an end for the USC men's golf team, which finished 15th at the Ping/Golfweek Preview in Stillwater, Okla., on Tuesday (Sept. 28).
USC finished the 54-hole event at 84-over 948 (331-305-312). Host Oklahoma State won the event at 14-over 878.
Sophomore Martin Trainer was USC's high finisher, tying for 48th at 16-over 232 (79-75-78) while sophomore Stewart Hagestad tied for 58th at 20-over 236 (79-78-79).
Freshman Jeffrey Kang tied for 63rd at 22-over 238 (81-78-79) and sophomore Sam Smith was 73rd at 43-over 259 (92-81-86). Sophomore T.J. Vogel, who had to withdraw from the first round, posted solid second (74) and third (76) rounds.
USC, which played without veteran Steve Lim, a junior, who was attending a family wedding in Korea, gets a chance to regroup Oct. 11-12 at Ohio State.
