
No. 3 Trojans Go East For Three Meet Showdown

After opening their season with two title wins at the San Diego Crew Classic, the No. 3 USC women's rowing team travels east this week to take on some of the nation's top talent as they are scheduled for three dual meets (April 16-17) at Lake Monticello in Charlottesville, Va.
A full day of action begins on Saturday morning as USC takes on No.12 Clemson in three events. The Varsity Four kicks off the day at 9:50 a.m. followed by the Second Varsity Eight at 10:20 a.m. The Varsity Eight boat caps the morning races with the Tigers at 10:50 a.m.
The Women of Troy will have only a few hours rest before getting back in the water to face No. 8 Michigan State in an afternoon meet. The Varsity Four will again kick things off in the first race at 3:00 p.m. followed by the Second Varsity Eight at 3:30 p.m. In the final race of the day the Varsity Eight goes up against the Spartans top boat in what looks to be a very competitive contest.
Looking forward to Sunday, USC will face its greatest challenge of the season as they meet the host team, the No. 2 Virginia Cavaliers. The Trojans are familiar with the defending national champs as the two teams went head-to-head at the 2010 NCAA Championship at Lake Natoma in Sacramento, Calif. where USC finished eighth overall. Opening the competition will be the Varsity Four boats at 9:20 am followed by the Second Varsity Eight race at 9:50 a.m. All eyes will be on the Varsity Eight event as two of the top boats in the country square off at 10:20 a.m.
USC's Varsity Eight remains the same for the second consecutive meet featuring, coxswain Dionne Licudine, 8. Ivana Filipovic, 7. Maria Wilgotsson, 6. Lenka Vrecnikova, 5. Magda Janicka, 4. Anna Wierzbowska, 3. Jelena Zelenovic, 2. Iskra Angelova and 1. Helen Tinkus.
Troy's Second Varsity Eight will include coxswain Tanya Ouyang, 8. Kajsa Olsson, 7. Jelena Miladinovic, 6. Marlena Adamska, 5. Anna Janicka, 4. Vineta Moca, 3. Liene Stuberovska, 2. Kate McFetridge and 1. Ewa Tymoszewska.
The Trojans Varsity Four will consist of coxswain Caroline Trawick, 4. Gabriella Zarate-DeMacedo, 3. Caroline Sederowsky, 2. Kinga Mikolajczyk and 1. Melanie Grindle
