Gear, Madanay Win To Open Trojan Diving Invitational

USC sophomore transfer Haley Ishimatsu, in her first competition as a Trojan, swept the 1-meter and platform events while sophomore teammate Jordan Gear won 3-meter and freshman teammate Spencer Madanay won platform on the first day of the USC-hosted Trojan Diving Invitational on Friday (Nov. 2).
Ishimatsu, a 2008 Olympian and long-time U.S. national teamer who competed at Duke in 2011 before transferring, won the 1-meter with 273.05 points, edging UCLA's Paulina Guzman (269.30).
Ishimatsu came back to win the platform with 265.65. USC freshman Sam Adams took third (205.25).
Gear won 3-meter with 334.50 with Madanay in second (293.45) and fellow freshman Ryan Savit in third (262.20). Madanay won the platform with 264.45 with USC freshman Adam Payne in second (213.50) and Savit in third (202.80).
Action concludes Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. at USC.
