
Chen Leads Trojans In PING/ASU Second Round

Freshman Doris Chen's 73 led the No. 3 USC women's golf team during the second round of the 2012 PING/ASU Invitational on Saturday (March 31) at the ASU Karsten G.C. in Tempe, Ariz.
USC, which won its last event and has finished in the top 4 in four straight events, has its work cut out for it to make it five top 4 finishes after falling into a tie for 10th at 20-over 588 (289-299). UCLA is in first at 3-under 565.
Chen, who has posted three straight top 10 finishes is tied for 23rd at 3-over 145 (72-73), eight strokes off the lead. She was even for the second round today with two birdies and two bogeys before ending the day with a double on 18.
Seniors Lisa McCloskey (73-74) and Inah Park (71-76) are tied for 33rd at 5-over 147. Sophomore Rachel Morris is tied for 72nd at 11-over 153 (77-76) and sophomore Sophia Popov is tied for 74th at 12-over 154 (73--81).
Final round action begins Sunday at 7:30 a.m.
