OJAI, CALIF. — USC's power pack of Giuliana Olmos and Gabby Smith had a winning day on the doubles and singles courts today in Ojai. Olmos has shoved her way through to the Pac-12 Singles semifinals in the championship draw and also has a spot in the Pac-12 Doubles semifinals alongside Smith on tap for tomorrow's action. Smith, meanwhile, has worked her way through the singles invitational bracket to take a place in the semis in that draw.

After notching two wins in yesterday's opening rounds of singles, #24 Olmos went into cruise control in her quarterfinal bout today against ASU's Ebony Panoho. The No. 4 seeded senior pinned up a 6-1, 6-2 win over Panoho to register herself a spot in tomorrow's semifinals against top-seeded Maegan Manasse of Cal.

In the doubles draw, Olmos and Smith combined forces as the No. 4 seeded pair in the mix. The #7 Olmos/Smith opened the doubles day with a tough 7-6 (4) win over Washington's Douglas-Miron/Hance. With that stressful match out of the way, the Trojan duo was able to relax and went on to pin up a 6-1 win over WSU's Huynh/Matejevic in the quarterfinals. Olmos/Smith will now face ASU's #22 Osborne/Panoho tomorrow in the doubles semifinals. USC also had #80 Zoë Katz and Madison Westby paired up in the doubles championship bracket. They, too, would wind up in a first-round tiebreaker but found themselves on the losing end of a 7-6 (5) decision to Stanford's Lord/Zhao to end their run in the main draw.

Meanwhile, Gabby Smith was also going strong in the singles invitational draw. The sophomore gutted out another three-setter as she tacked up a 6-1, 5-7, 6-1 win over ASU's Gussie O'Sullivan in today's quarterfinals to maven through to tomorrow's semis. Smith will face Stanford's Caroline Lampl tomorrow morning to continue her singles stretch.
