Sophomore Muni He is tied for third thanks in part to a collegiate career best second round 67 while junior Robynn Ree and freshman Alyaa Abdulghany joined her under par as the USC women's golf team kicked off the 2017-18 season in second place after a 36-hole opening day at the Minnesota Invitational at the Prestwick G.C. in Woodbury, Minn., Monday (Sept. 11).

USC combined for an 18-under 558 (282-276), one back of first-place Michigan State's 557 (279-278). Louisville is third (564) with Purdue fourth (568).

The Trojans' second round 12-under 276 tied for the program's fifth-most under par round and was its most under par since a 13-under second round at the 2016 Pac-12 Championships.

He led the way for the Trojans at 7-under 137 (70-67), her second round – featuring five birdies without a bogey -- her first round in the 60s as a Trojan. Her first round saw four birdies against one double bogey.

Ree is tied for fifth at 5-under 139 (71-68) and posted her first USC round under 70 since the first round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in February. She had nine birdies on the day, including five in her 4-under second-round.
