Bio
THIS SEASON: Divya Manthena is a 2018 junior who will look to build on a strong start to her Trojan career in her second year with the team.
2017-18: Manthena, as a first-year transfer, played in six events as a 2018 sophomore and started twice in USC wins at the Minnesota Invitational and the East Lake Cup. She fired a career-best 70 in her first round as a Trojan en route to a tie for 46th at 6-over 222 (70-76-76). At the East Lake Cup, Manthena won both anchor matches for the Trojans, defeating Northwestern’s Janet Mao, 2&1, in the semifinals, before securing the decisive point in USC’s finals match over Stanford with a 4&2 win over the Cardinal’s Madeline Cho.
SIENA COLLEGE: As a 2016 freshman at Siena College in New York, Manthena played in four events, tying including a tie for fourth at the MAAC Championships. She also tied for 39th twice (at the Bucknell and Rutgers Women’s Invitationals) and tied for 48th at the Grand Canyon Women’s Spring Invite … She made the school’s honor roll as a freshman. She did not compete as a sophomore.
HIGH SCHOOL: She received the 2013 USGA/AJGA Presidents’ Leadership Award while at La Reina High, which recognizes one male and one female junior golfer who demonstrate leadership, character and community service through volunteerism.
PERSONAL: Manthena is a business administration major and is a USC Marks Scholar Athlete. She has been extremely involved in community service for many years. She is the founder of a Non-Profit Organization called “Krishak” 501 (c) (3) with the mission of helping people suffering from hardships around the world. She organized several golf tournaments and fund raising events during the past seven years and raised over $50,000 and donated the proceeds to various organizations such as American Red Cross, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Special Olympics, Cancer Awareness and Save a Little Heart Foundation.
