No. 2 USC Women’s Golf Sits in Fifth Heading into the Final Day of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate

Junior Jasmine Koo fired a 69 (-3) to move up 12 places into a tie for 4th.
LAKE ELMO, Minn. — The No. 2 USC women's golf team is in fifth place out of 12 teams heading into the final round of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, held at the Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minnesota.
The Trojans started the day in a three-way tie for second place but fell back into fifth after firing a 289 (+1) at the par-72, 6,267-yard course. USC's two-round score of 577 (+1) is two strokes behind fourth-place South Carolina and six strokes off second place Oregon. Wake Forest increased its lead by firing a tournament-best 276 (-12) to carry a 556 (-20) into the final round. Chloe Kovelesky and Benedicte Brent-Petersen of Wake Forest are tied for the lead at 137 (-7).
Junior Jasmine Koo leads the Trojans in a tie for fourth after firing a team-best 69 (-3) in round two. Starting the round on No. 10, Koo had two birdies on the front side and lowered her score to three-under with a birdie at the turn on the par-4 No. 1. However, Koo found trouble with three bogeys in the next four holes to bring her score back to par. But Koo recovered with a birdie on the par-4 No. 6 before capping off her round with an eagle on the par-5 No. 9 to finish at three under. Her two-round score of 142 (-2) is three strokes outside the top three heading into the final round.
Sophomore Sarah Hammett is in a tie for 17th after firing a 71 (+1) to give her a two-round total of 145 (+1). Her second round featured five birdies, four bogeys and one double bogey, which happened on the front side. Hammett bounced back from her front side with three birdies on the back side, including one to finish the round on No. 9.
Junior Elise Lee fired a 75 (+3), giving her a two-round total of 146 (+2) to tie for 24th. Despite finding trouble after firing a 76 (+4), Bailey Shoemaker's two-round total of 148 (+4) is tied for 29th, giving USC all four scorers in the top 30
Rounding out the Trojans, junior Kylie Chong improved from yesterday by firing an even-par 72 for a two-round total of 150 (+6). She is in a tie for 38th.
USC will look to make one final push up the leaderboard tomorrow. Kylie Chong kicks off the action for the Trojans at 6:30 a.m. PT. The round will be livestreamed via Babygrande Golf; all pertinent links can be found on the women's golf team's schedule page on usctrojans.com.
