USC Women’s Golf Begins 2026-27 Season at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate

The Trojans look to improve upon last year’s third-place finish against a challenging field.
LOS ANGELES — The No. 2 USC women's golf team starts the 2026-27 season at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, held at the Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minnesota from Sept. 7-9.
USC will square off against 11 teams in the 54-hole tournament, which starts Monday, Sept. 7 at 7:30 a.m. PT. The teams will play 18 holes per day. The tournament will be livestreamed on Babygrande Golf. All pertinent links can be found on the women's golf team's schedule page on usctrojans.com.
This year's ANNIKA Invitational field is a competitive one: Eight of the 12 teams are ranked in both Golfweek and Golf Channel's preseason polls, while seven made the NCAA Championships last year. USC's main challengers are Wake Forest (Golfweek No. 6/ Golf Channel No. 7), Auburn (No. 8/9), South Carolina (No. 15/10) and Big Ten foes Oregon (No. 12/11) and UCLA (No. 11/16).
Bringing back four lineup players from last year's NCAA runner-up finish, USC is the consensus No. 2 team in the Golf Channel and Golfweek polls. All told, Head Coach Justin Silverstein retained six players from a year ago — including All-Americans Kylie Chong, Jasmine Koo, Elise Lee and Bailey Shoemaker — plus sophomores Sarah Hammett and Chloe Kim. Earlier this fall, Koo and Shoemaker made the ANNIKA Award Preseason Watch List, making USC one of just four schools to have multiple players recognized on the list.
Silverstein and co. brought in blue-chip recruits Kaili Xiao and Angela Zhang and fellow freshman Sophia Lin as the lone newcomers to the team this year. The trio will make their collegiate debuts later this fall.
