This Season: Aiko Leong is a 2020 senior who has been a key reserve and occasional starter for the Trojans, providing reliable scoring when her number is called upon.
2019: Leong competed in five events as a 2019 junior, highlighted by a tie for 11th at the Clover Cup at 7-over 223 (74-74-75). She tied for 34th at the Silverado Showdown at 10-over 226 (71-81-74), providing two counting scores in USC’s win at the event. Her first-round 71 was a season-best. Leong finished the season with a stroke average of 77.07 in 14 rounds.
2018: Leong saw action in two events after transferring to USC from BYU in the spring of 2018. She tied for 27th in her Trojan debut at the Bruin Wave Invitational at 17-over 233 (75-77-81) and tied for 78th at the Silverado Showdown at 19-over 235 (84-79-72).
BYU: Leong competed in five events as a 2017 fall semester sophomore for BYU, posting a 73.33 stroke average with a pair of top 10 finishes. She tied for sixth at 2-under 211 (70-70-71) at the Coeur d’Alene Resort Collegiate and was ninth at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at 5-over 221 (75-74-72) … As a 2016-17 freshman, Leong saw action in four events with a 76.58 stroke average and one top 20 finish. She also earned 2017 WGCA All-Scholar honors.
HIGH SCHOOL: Leong prepped at Punahou School in her hometown of Honolulu, Hawaii, where she was a HHSAA State Championship runner-up, firing a 69-69. She qualified for the 2015 U.S. Women’s Amateur as well as the 2015 U.S. Girl’s Junior. She also tied for seventh that year at the Big I Championship … She was named to the Interscholastic League of Honolulu first team three times (2013-15). She was voted the 2016 Most Inspirational Player at Punahou as a senior and was a three-year member of her school’s orchestra, playing the viola.
PERSONAL: Leong is majoring in Economics.
