Suh Leads Trojans In Second Round At Fighting Illini Invite

USC tied for seventh heading into final round.
Junior Justin Suh fired a 1-under 69 while freshman Kaito Onishi carded another round of par to lead the No. 8 USC Men's Golf team during the second round of the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invite on Saturday (Sept. 16) at the Olympia Fields (Ill.) C.C.
USC is now tied for seventh at 15-over 575 (283-292) after a 12-over second round, 15 back of first-place Alabama (560) while Baylor (563) is second and Texas A&M is third (566).
Suh, with five birdies today, is tied for eighth at 1-under 139 (70-69), 6 off the lead, looking for his seventh straight top 20 finish going back to last season and a fourth top 10 in his past five events.
Onishi is tied for 12th at even 140 (70-70) with three birdies in the second round. Sophomore Cheng Jin (70-80) and junior Sam Kim (73-77) are tied for 53rd at 10-over 150 while sophomore Kyle Suppa is tied for 53rd at 11-over 151 (75-76).
The Trojans will tee off in the final round at 5:30 a.m. PT with UNLV and Stanford.
