Justin Suh Ties For Ninth At Fighting Illini Invite

Trojans finish 12th overall.
Junior Justin Suh tied for ninth while freshman Kaito Onishi tied for 28th to pace the No. 8 USC Men's Golf team's season-opening event, the Trojans taking 12th at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invite on Sunday (Sept. 17) at the Olympia Fields (Ill.) C.C.
USC wrapped play at 31-over 871 (283-292-296) after a 16-over final round. Texas A&M won the event at 3-under 837 while Alabama (846) was second and Oklahoma State (850) third.
Suh finished at even 210 (70-69-71), securing his seventh top 20 finish going back to last season and his fourth top 10 in his past five events.
Onishi, one of two Trojan debuts this week, finished at 7-over 210 (70-70-77). Sophomore Kyle Suppa tied for 56th at 14-over 224 (75-76-73), junior transfer Sam Kim tied for 59th at 15-over 225 (73-77-75) and sophomore Cheng Jin tied for 63rd at 18-over 228 (70-80-78).
The Trojans return to action at the Trinity Forest Invitational, Sept. 24-26.
