Trojans within six strokes of lead after 36 holes in Dallas
Junior Justin Suh continued his strong start to the season with a second-round 69, grabbing a share of first while leading the USC men's golf team to within six strokes of the lead after the second round of the Trinity Forest Invitational at the Trinity Forest G.C. in Dallas on Monday (Sept. 25).

The Trojans are a combined 2-under 566 (282-284), six back of Auburn and Florida (560) and two behind North Texas (564). Oregon is fifth at 567 with Texas and Texas Tech tied for sixth at even 568.

Suh, with one collegiate win to his credit, moved into a tie for first at 6-under 136 (67-69) with Auburn's Brandon Mancheno thanks to his third round under 70 in five attempts. Suh put forth a five-birdie, three-bogey round and he and Mancheno are two ahead of a three-way tie for third.

Sophomore Kyle Suppa is tied for 15th at even 142 (72-70), mixing three birdies and three bogeys while freshman Kaito Onishi is tied for 26th at 2-over 144 (71-73). He was 3-under through 12 before dropping five shots over the final six holes during a challenging finish.
Likewise, sophomore Cheng Jin, also tied for 26th (72-72), was 2-under through 12 before dropping three shots over the last six holes.

Sophomore Ryan Slater is tied for 37th at 3-over 145 (72-73). He was 2-over going out and managed an even back 9 thanks in part to birdies on 15 and 16.

Freshman Owen Calvin-Smith, playing individually, is tied for 73rd at 13-over 155 (75-80).

USC will tee off at 6 a.m. PT on Tuesday to begin final-round play, paired with Oregon and Texas Tech.
