Five Trojans Hit Arizona For Oracle ITA National Fall Championships

More fall singles and doubles title go up for grabs this week in Surprise, Ariz.
USC men's tennis will have five Trojans vying for individual titles in Surprise, Ariz., in singles and doubles action at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships this week. Starting tomorrow (Nov. 6), USC has all five Trojans tabbed for duty in singles, with one doubles duo lined up for competition.
In doubles, Daniel Cukierman and Tanner Smith will pair back up. Ranked No. 40 in the nation, the Trojan pair carries a 6-2 record together this season into tomorrow's opening Round of 32.
In singles, several Trojans will be looking to add to their fall trophy case. Automatic spots in this Oracle ITA National Fall Championships were granted to seniors Logan Smith and Laurens Verboven, singles champs at the ITA Southwest Regionals and the Oracle ITA Masters Championships, respectively. So, too, has Cukierman claimed a crown. He won the Southern California Intercollegiate title last week to take an 11-3 singles record into this week's draw, where he's the No. 6 seed. Last year's Oracle ITA Masters champion, Brandon Holt, is locked in as the No. 4 seed. Rounding out the Trojan contingent opening up Round of 64 singles play tomorrow is Tanner Smith, who holds a 10-3 mark after making a recent push to the title match at the ITA Southwest Regional.
All the action opens up in Surprise, Ariz., tomorrow, and runs through the televised title matches on Nov. 11. Those finals will be aired live on ESPN3 and on delay on ESPNU.
