Trojans take 10th in spring season opener with four freshmen in the lineup.
Alyaa Abdulghany posted her second top 20 this season while she and fellow freshman Amelia Garvey each posted team-leading final-round 74s as the No. 10 USC women's golf team finished 10th in the spring-season opener at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge on Tuesday (Feb. 13) at the Palos Verdes (Calif.) G.C.

USC, with three freshmen making their debuts this week, combined for a 48-over 900 (295-306-299) for 10th a year after winning the tournament for the fourth time.

Abdulghany tied for 18th at 8-over 221 (73-74-74). While she did not birdie a hole Tuesday, she limited her mistakes in the final round.

Freshman Gabi Ruffels tied for 41st at 13-over 226 (74-77-75) while sophomore Allisen Corpuz tied for 46th at 14-over 227 (73-77-77).

Freshman Jennifer Chang (75-76-78) and Garvey (77-78-74) tied for 53rd at 16-over 229. Sophomore Divya Manthena, playing individually, tied for 73rd at 21-over 234 (75-78-81).

After a short break USC will next travel to New Orleans for the Allstate Sugar Bowl, Feb. 18-20.
