Hansson Breaks 200y Free USC Record, Troy Posts Season Best Relays To Open Pac-12 Championships

Louise Hansson lowered her 200y free relay while leading off USC's third-place 800y free relay while Troy's 200y medley relay also took third in a near-school record to kick off the Pac-12 Championships on Wednesday night (Feb. 21) in Federal Way, Wash.
Meanwhile, sophomore Henry Fusaro led three Trojans on the first day of the Pac-12 Men's Diving Championships, taking a career-best second on 1-meter.
USC opened the competition with senior Hannah Weiss, junior Riley Scott, Hansson and freshman Marta Ciesla taking third in a season-best 1:35.36, 0.18 off the 2017 school record, 1.23 back of first-place Cal, 0.57 behind second-place Stanford.
The Trojans closed the two-event first night with Hansson, sophomore Tatum Wade, senior Lexie Malazdrewicz and Scott going 6:56.85, a season-best NCAA A cut. Tip of the cap to Scott, the breaststroke specialist anchoring the long relay.
Hansson led off with a 1:41.81 to break her 2017 school record of 1:42.10.
Fusaro took second on 1-meter with 353.95 points, behind only ASU's Youssef Selim (382.90). Senior Dashiell Enos made his second appearance in a Pac-12 final on the board, taking sixth with 315.80, while senior transfer Dylan Marin, in his first Pac-12 event, made the final as well and took seventh (285.45).
Thursday prelims start at 10:30 a.m. with finals at 6 p.m.
