Five Trojans in top 20, led by Jennifer Chang, tied for third.
Freshman Jennifer Chang followed up her top 2 finish in her last event by opening the Bruin Wave Invitational tied for third after 36 holes, leading five Trojans into the top 20 as No. 10 USC took the two-round lead after a cold and rainy day at the San Luis Obispo (Calif.) C.C.

USC, looking for its third win this season but first since the roster was virtually turned over for the spring semester with four new players, combined for a 22-over 598 (300-298), five better than top-ranked UCLA and 12 strokes ahead of third-place San Diego State.

Chang, who tied for 2nd last week in New Orleans, is on pace for another top finish, tying for third after 36 holes at 3-over 147 (76-71), seven back of UCLA's Lilia Vu, two back of Stanford's Albane Valenzuela. Chang had three birdies in her first round and four in her second round against just three bogeys.

Sophomore Allisen Corpuz is also maintaining her momentum, in sixth at 6-over 150 (73-77) after her career-best tie for fourth last week. She had three birdies during the challenging day.

Joining them in the top 10 are freshman Gabi Ruffels, who is tied for seventh at 7-over 151 (76-75) and sophomore transfer Aiko Leong, who made her USC debut today and is tied for 10th at 8-over 152 (75-77).

Sophomore Alyaa Abdulghany pushed her way north on the leaderboard in the second round and is tied for 20th at 11-over 155 (80-75).
