The Women of Troy had a strong second-half comeback bid fall short against the Buffaloes
BOULDER, Colo. – The 16th-ranked USC lacrosse team (7-6, 5-3 Pac-12) lost to No. 18 Colorado (8-4, 6-1) under snowfall at Kittredge Field on Friday, April 6.

KEY PLAYERS
- Sophomore midfielder Kerrigan Miller scored four goals to secure her fourth hat trick of the season. It was her 10th-career hat trick and makes her just the seventh Trojan to register 10 career hat-trick games. She also had four ground balls.
- Senior goalie Gussie Johns made nine saves and had a .474 save percentage.
- Sophomore midfielder Kaeli Huff scored a pair of goals and picked up two ground balls.
- For Colorado, Darby Kiernan had five goals and three assists for eight points. She scored a hat trick in the first half along and added seven draw controls and two ground balls. In goal, Julia Lisella had seven saves.
- Colorado scored the first four goals of the game before Miller stopped the run at 12:44 with her goal from free position. The Buffaloes pushed to get three more goals before the end of the half and led, 7-1, at the break.
- Huff and Miller combined to put the Women of Troy on a 4-0 scoring run and pulled USC within two at 7-5 with 17:03 left to play, but Kiernan had other plans and scored two more to sandwich a goal by Audrey Kingdom to put CU on top, 10-5.
- Miller scored one more but it was too little too late. Freshman midfielder Sophia Donovan scored one more Trojan goal with 41 seconds to play to make the final score 10-7.
- USC stays on the road and heads to Eugene, Ore., to face Oregon on Sunday (April 8) for a noon PT game.
- USC fell to 5-2 all-time against Colorado and had a five-game winning streak over the Buffaloes snapped. The Trojans also fell to 1-2 in games played in Boulder, Colo.
- The Trojans dropped to 15-25 in all-time games against ranked opponents.
- Sophomore midfielder Kerrigan Miller became the seventh Trojan in program history to record 10-career hat-trick games. She led the Women of Troy with four goals against the Buffaloes.
