The Women of Troy suffered their third straight loss
EUGENE, Ore. – The 16th-ranked USC lacrosse team (7-7, 5-4 Pac-12) fell to Oregon (8-5, 4-3) on Papé Field on Sunday, April 8. It was the third consecutive loss for the Women of Troy, and the first against an unranked opponent since May 2014.

- Senior goalie Gussie Johns had eight saves, six ground balls, and caused two turnovers.
- Freshman midfielder Kelsey Huff scored her fourth hat trick of the season to lead USC's scorers. She also recorded an assist.
- Junior midfielder Emily Concialdi, sophomore midfielder Kaeli Huff, and sophomore attacker Hope Anhut each scored two goals apiece. Senior attacker Maeve McMahon had two points on one goal and one assist.
- Defensively, senior Lydia Sutton had two ground balls; sophomore midfielder Kerrigan Miller had three and two caused turnovers; sophomore Morgan Kuligowski had one ground ball and caused two turnovers.
- For Oregon, four players scored hat tricks led by five goals by JoJo Hesketh, four goals by Mariah Gatti, and three apiece from Natalie Modly and Jill Zubillaga. Zubillaga and Lexy Biller each had eight draw wins. Shannon Williams had one goal but dished out six assists.
- USC scored the first goal, but were undone as the Ducks went on a 10-0 scoring run over the next 15 minutes. The Trojans snapped the drought with goals by Concialdi and Kelsey Huff to go into halftime down, 10-3.
- Oregon came out and secured running clock against USC with a 4-0 run to open the second half. The Trojans answered back and used a 6-0 run to trim the lead to five at 14-9.
- The Ducks solidified the win when Hesketh scored her fourth goal of the day for a 15-10 lead. The Ducks ended on a 3-1 run to complete an 18-11 victory over the Women of Troy.
- USC returns home to host former MPSF foe San Diego State (8-5) in the final home game of the spring. The Trojans will celebrate seniors Gussie Johns, Lydia Sutton, and Alexis Kardias in pregame Senior Day festivities. First draw is set for 3 p.m. PT on McAlister Field with the game set for broadcast on the Pac-12+ streaming platform.
- USC fell to 5-3 all-time against Oregon and had a four-game winning streak over the Ducks snapped.
- The Trojans' loss was the first to an unranked opponent since a 7-6 setback to Oregon on May 1, 2014, in the MPSF tournament semifinals held in Denver, Colo.
- The Ducks' 13-3 lead at 23:04 in the second half marked only the second time that USC has ever faced a running-clock deficit. The other time was in the program's first-ever game against No. 1-ranked defending champion Northwestern on Feb. 9, 2013. The Wildcats went up, 12-2, with 29:29 left in the second half and went on to win, 18-5.
- Oregon's 18 goals match the second-most ever scored in a single game against the Trojans. Boston College owns the opponent record for goals at 20 (May 20, 2017). Opponents scored 18 goals on USC three other times; all in 2013.
- USC's three-game losing streak matches the longest in program history (four other times).
- Sophomore midfielder Kelsey Huff scored a hat trick to tie for the team lead of four this season (Kerrigan Miller).
