LOS ANGELES – The 20th-ranked USC lacrosse team (7-7, 5-4 Pac-12) completes its regular-season home schedule as host to San Diego State (8-6, 0-1 MPSF) on Friday, April 13, at McAlister Field. The Women of Troy will honor the careers of seniors Gussie Johns, Alexis Kardias, Lydia Sutton, and graduate transfer Maeve McMahon in pre-game ceremonies. First draw is set for 3 p.m. PT and a live stream of the game will be available on USC's Pac-12+ platform.

Johns, the national leader with 71 ground balls, Miller, and Sutton are each on the Tewaaraton Award's Watch List.

After graduating over 200 goals from 2017, USC turns to Kaeli Huff (24g, 2a), and Emily Concialdi (14g, 2a), on the attack. Jackie Gilbert runs the center circle (47dc). Among newcomers, Kelsey Huff (20g, 3a), Izzy McMahon (22g, 8a), and Maeve McMahon (14g, 12a, 34dc) have made immediate impacts. Sophia Donovan has also been a recent spark with her 10 goals (1a, 6gb, 3ct). Crease defenders Morgan Kuligowski and Natalie Byrne each have 13 ground balls. Sixth-year head coach Lindsey Munday is 76-37 overall.
SCOUTING SAN DIEGO STATE: The Aztecs (8-6) have lost three straight games after suffering narrow one-goal defeats at Delaware (11-10) and at Mount St. Mary's (13-12); and a home loss to UC Davis, 15-9. Prior to the skid, SDSU had won three in a row with victories at Furman and Wofford; and a win over Liberty at home. The Aztecs score 14.29 goals per game and give up 11.29 goals per contest. Jill Haight leads the team with 31 goals and also has eight assists for 39 points. Harlowe Steele is close behind with 28 goals. Elizabeth Rourke is the team's distributor and leads with 15 assists. She also tops the Aztecs with 26 ground balls. Haight is the go-to draw taker and has 60 draw controls to lead SDSU. Steele ranks second with 44 draw controls. In goal, Katy Sharretts has started all but one game and has a 12.05 goals-against average. USC is 6-0 all-time against the Aztecs. LAST TIME OUT: USC suffered tough road losses at then 18th-ranked Colorado (10-7) and Oregon (18-11) over the weekend. The Trojans were heavily outplayed in the first halves of each game. Despite strong second-half comeback bids, USC wasn't able to repair the damage already done. The Buffaloes won the draw circle by a 15-4 count and led, 7-1, at halftime. Under snowfall, USC scored four straight goals to open the second half, but CU had a response and held off the Trojans for the win. USC fired first against the Ducks, but were shell-shocked by a 10-0 Oregon run that put the Women of Troy behind the eight ball. The Ducks led, 10-3, at the break, and built a 14-3 lead early in the second half. USC used a big 6-0 run to trim the Oregon advantage, but the Ducks settled down and finished off an 8-8 second half to hold on for the 18-11 win. Kerrigan Miller led the Women of Troy with four goals and her fourth hat trick of the season in Boulder. Kelsey Huff scored her fourth hat trick with three goals against the Ducks.

ONES TO WATCH: Senior goalie Gussie Johns and senior defender Lydia Sutton were each named to the initial Tewaaraton Award Watch List announced on March 1. Sophomore midfielder Kerrigan Miller was later added to the national watch list on March 22 in the first round of additions. The award honors the top men's and women's lacrosse player in the country. Previously, Courtney Tarleton and Michaela Michael were named nominees. This year, the list of 25 national nominees will be named on April 26. The five men's and women's finalists will be announced on May 10 with the ceremonial presentation to the winner set for May 31 in Washington, D.C.

PAC IT UP:Â USC won the 2016 and 2017 MPSF (Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) championships but plays under the banner of the Pac-12 Conference in 2018. Women's lacrosse became the 13th women's sport sponsored by the Pac-12 when it was added for 2018. With the addition of Arizona State, the Pac-12 reached the minimum of six teams to receive an automatic qualifier bid into the NCAA championship. The first-ever Pac-12 Lacrosse Championship will be held April 26-29 at Prentup Field at University of Colorado. From the end of 2015 to the middle of the 2019 season, USC won a school-record 22 consecutive conference games. The Trojans were undefeated in the MPSF in 2016 (9-0) and 2017 (8-0).

PAC-12 POW-WOW: Trojans have won four Pac-12 Player of the Week awards this season. Senior goalie Gussie Johns was named for the Defensive Player of the Week award on Feb. 12 and Feb. 26. Following a 2-0 weekend with overtime wins over Colorado and Oregon, the Trojans swept the awards as sophomore midfielder Kerrigan Miller took home the Offensive Player of the Week award and senior defender Lydia Sutton was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
