Trojan Tennis Sets Up For Action At Australian Open

USC and South Carolina face off in the first collegiate competition at the Grand Slam event
The USC men's tennis team is Down Under for a training trip with the USC women's team, and both teams are making some collegiate tennis history this week. After a fun-filled Australia adventure in Cairns, the Trojans have settled down in Melbourne to get prepped for the first-ever collegiate competition at the Australian Open. Currently 19 hours ahead of their California cohorts, the USC teams have spent several days training for two days of competition coming fast in Melbourne.
On Monday in Australia -- Sunday (Jan. 20) on California time -- both the USC men's and women's teams will play exhibition matches against a squad of Australian players on the courts at the Australian Open. Action begins at 3 p.m. PST on Jan. 20 (Jan. 21 in Australia) on courts 9-14. Streaming should be available at https://ausopen.com/watch#!live.
On Tuesday -- Monday (Jan. 21) in California -- the USC women and men will engage in their first official dual matches of the year. These will take place on Aussie soil, at the outer 9-14 courts at the Aussie Open, with all matches streamed on ESPN3/WatchESPNÂ that day. The first-ever collegiate action at the Aussie Open features both USC teams along with the men's and women's teams from South Carolina. The all-SC battle begins with the women at 4 p.m. PST, followed by a 9 p.m. PST start between the USC and South Carolina men.Â
