USC Women’s Tennis Takes On California

THIS WEEK
The USC women's tennis team heads to the Bay Area to take on California in a non-conference match in Berkeley, Calif. on Sunday (Feb. 24) at 12 p.m. PT.
ORACLE/ITA RANKINGS UPDATES
In the most recent ITA team rankings (Feb. 20), the Women of Troy broke into the national rankings for the first time this season securing the No. 17 rank. The ITA also released new singles and doubles rankings on Feb. 20, and two Trojans locked down national rankings. Freshman Salma Ewing holds that No. 34 singles rank while junior Becca Weissmann entered the national rankings for the first time in the 2019 season by earning the No. 120 rank. No Trojan pairs are currently ranked in doubles.
GOING STREAKING
Two USC players are currently riding winning streaks of three matches or more. Junior Becca Weissmann has won her last three matches in a row, and freshman Danielle Willson is undefeated in dual matches (4-0) and is riding a five-match winning streak that rolls over from the 2018 individual tournament season.
SCOUTING CALIFORNIA
The No. 24 ranked California Golden Bears are 4-1 to begin the 2019 season. Last weekend, they earned a pair of wins on the road as they defeated San Diego State 7-0 and Pepperdine 4-3. They have three national ranked singles players: No. 20 Olivia Hauger, No. 45 Julia Rosenqvist and No. 69 Anna Bright. The Golden Bears have two doubles pairs nationally ranked in No. 23 Bright/Dunk and No. 28 Mraz/Rosenqvist.
