Vissering wins 100y breast, helps Trojans to win in 400y medley relay.
Senior Carsten Vissering claimed the 100y breast and joined teammates seniors Patrick Mulcare and Alex Valente and sophomore Nikola Miljenic to win the 400y medley relay in the Trojans' 196-93 loss at Stanford on Saturday (Feb. 9).
Vissering won the 100y breast in 52.38, claiming the event by more than two seconds. He joined Mulcare, Valente and Miljenic to win the meet's opening relay with a 3:11.42, hitting the wall 0.07 ahead of Stanford.
Mulcare posted a trio of second-place finishes, including a nail-biting loss in the 100y back in which his 48.56 was just 0.01 back of Stanford's Patrick Conaton. He was also second in the 200y back (1:45.06) and in the 200y IM (1:51.63).
Junior Caleb Dixon was second on 1-meter (296.55) and senior Kyle Grissom was second in the 100y fly (48.78).
The USC men are off until Senior Night when they host Utah on Feb. 23 at noon
