Senior Patrick Mulcare completed his Trojan career with his fourth scoring swim in the 200y back while freshman Victor Johansson made his scoring debut in the 1650y free on the final night of the 2019 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships in Austin, Texas, on Saturday (March 30).
USC finished 20th overall with 81 points. California won the team title with 560 points, Texas second at 475.
Mulcare, a three-time A finalist entering this season, found himself in the B final after his prelim 1:40.07. He swam to a 1:41.34 in the B final, taking 14th overall.
Johansson, the Pac-12 champion in the 500y free who didn't earn a scoring swim in the race Thursday, redeemed himself with a massive mile, clocking a 14:43.21 to finish 14th as well.
The time made Johansson the fourth-fastest Trojan ever in the race and was the fastest at USC since Larsen Jensen won the NCAA title in the event in 2007 with a 14:26.70.
Junior Mario Koenigsperger was 21st in the 200y breast in 1:54.39 while senior Carsten Vissering finished with a 1:58.22. Sophomore Nikola Miljenic was 33rd in the 100y free in 43.03.
