Sophomore Jennifer Chang matched her collegiate career-best round with a 6-under 66 to lead the No. 1 USC women's golf team in the second round of the PING/ASU Invitational on Saturday (March 30) at the Papago G.C.

The Trojans finished the second round tied for third at 4-over 580 (293-287) and are nine back of Stanford (571) while trailing host Arizona State by eight (572). USC is tied with Northwestern and Oklahoma.

Chang notched her team-best-tying fifth round under 70 this year thanks to red-hot back 9 that saw her go 5-under with six birdies, including four in a row between 12 and 15 to go with birdies on 10 and 17.

Coupled with the 1-under front, Chang climbed into a tie for second at 6-under 138 (72-66), one back of the lead as she looks for her second medalist honor in a row.

Junior Allisen Corpuz tied for eighth today at 2-under 142 (71-71). She had three birdies in her round. Sophomore Alyaa Abdulghany is tied for 16th at 1-over 145 (74-71) and had two birdies against one bogey today.

Freshman Malia Nam is tied for 31st at 4-over 148 (73-75), sophomore Amelia Garvey is tied for 38th at 5-over 149 (74-75) and sophomore Gabriela Ruffels is tied for 52nd at 7-over 151 (76-75).

USC will tee off leaders Stanford and Arizona State at 9 a.m. Sunday in the final round.
