Issei Tanabe 69 leads USC in final round.
Sophomore Issei Tanabe carded a final-round 3-under 69 while senior Sam Kim posted his second top 20 finish as a Trojan to highlight the No. 3 Trojan men's golf team's efforts during the final round at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas on Tuesday (March 5).
The Trojans, playing without senior Justin Suh as he prepares to play as an amateur in the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando this week, finished 10th at 9-over 872 (301-284-287).
Kim tied for 19th at 1-under 215 (74-67-74), just off his Trojan career best tie for 17th set last season. He had three birdies in the final round.
Sophomore Issei Tanabe tied for 24th at 1-over 217 (73-75-69) thanks to his eighth round under 70 this season, second most on the team. He had five birdies on the day.
Sophomore Katio Onishi tied for 44thth at 5-over 221 (78-72-71) with two birdies and a bogey today.
Junior Kyle Suppa tied for 63rd at 11-over 227 (78-76-73) and freshman Charlie Reiter tied for 69th at 12-over 228 (76-70-82).
