Tanabe, Lin Fire 68s In Second Round At Maui Jim Intercollegiate

USC 6-under for the round, in seventh after 36 holes.
Freshman Yuxin Lin followed his debut 66 with a second-round 68 while junior Issei Tanabe was also 2-under today to lead No. 11 USC after 36 holes of the Maui Jim Intercollegiate on Saturday (Sept. 14) at the Mirabel G.C. in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The Trojans finished the second round at 14-under 546 (272-274), in seventh. Arizona took over first at 28-under (268-264), a shot ahead of Clemson and Arizona State.
Lin, from Beijing, continued his strong start to his USC career today and is now tied for 11th at 6-under 134 (66-68), five back of first. He opened his round with two birdies, turned at 1-over and closed with a 3-under back 9.
Tanabe is tied for 30th at 2-under 138 (70-68) after putting together a pair of 1-under nines that included four birdies.
He's tied with sophomore Charlie Reiter (69-69) who repeated his Friday effort thanks to six birdies, including one on 18.
Senior Kyle Suppa (71-69) and junior Leon D'Souza (67-73) are tied for 44th. Suppa had three birdies against just one double today.
USC will tee off in Sunday's final round beginning at 8:40 a.m. PT with Mineesota and Augusta.
