USC Women’s Tennis Travels to San Diego for Three Non-Conference Matches

THIS WEEK
The No. 22 ranked USC women's tennis team travels down south to San Diego for a series of three non-conference matches. On Friday (Feb 21), the Women of Troy will challenge Hawai'i at 9 a.m. PST and San Diego State at 2 p.m. PST at San Diego State's Aztec Tennis Center. On Saturday (Feb. 22), USC will face San Diego at 1:30 p.m. PST at San Diego's Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center.
ORACLE/ITA RANKINGS UPDATES
In the most recent Oracle/ITA Rankings (Feb. 18), the Trojans are now the No. 22 ranked team in the nation. USC boasts one nationally ranked singles player in senior captain Angela Kulikov at No. 25. Kulikov is undefeated this dual match season at 5-0, all from the No. 1 position. In doubles, the USC duo of Angela Kulikov/Danielle Willson is ranked No. 33.
GOING STREAKING
Freshman Eryn Cayetano and senior Angela Kulikov are riding strong winning streaks, as well as both being undefeated in singles and doubles. Cayetano is 6-0 in dual matches and Kulikov is 5-0 in dual matches (all from the No. 1 position). In doubles, the duo is 5-0 all from the No. 1 position.
SCOUTING HAWAI'I
The Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine's hold a 1-4 record on the 2020 dual match season. They are not currently ranked nationally as a team, and are coming off a 4-3 loss to San Diego (Feb. 16). They do not have any ranked singles or doubles players.
SCOUTING SAN DIEGO STATE
The San Diego State Aztecs are 4-2 overall and coming off two victories: a 4-0 win over Cal State Fullerton (Feb. 19) and a 6-1 win over Cal Poly (Feb. 16). The Aztecs are not nationally ranked, nor do they have any individual ranked players.
SCOUTING SAN DIEGO
Although the San Diego Torreos are not nationally ranked, they are 3-3 overall and boast two ranked singles players: No. 59 Solymar Colling and No. 124 Elizabeth Goldsmith. They most recently defeated Hawai'i 4-3 on Feb. 16.
