Men’s relay 2nd in the world, Mallard sets freshman women’s indoor 400m mark and Braun takes 3rd in men’s 400m
The men's 4x400m relay team ran the second-fastest time in the world this season, Christine M. Mallard set the USC women's freshman 400m record and Justin Braun placed third in the men's 400m race to highlight the Trojans' efforts during the final day of the Razorback Invitational held at Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark. today (Jan. 28).Â

- The men's 4x400m relay team of freshman Justin Braun, junior Ashton Allen, freshman William Jones and junior Johnnie Blockburger posted the second-fastest time in school history of 3:04.12 to take second by 0.01 seconds to Florida. Those are the two fastest times in the world this indoor season.
- Mallard had a time of 52.67 to place 12th overall, seventh among the collegians in the 400m race. Her time set the USC freshman indoor record, besting the old mark of 53.17 set by Baily Lear in 2019. Finishing sixth among the collegians and 11th overall was junior Jan'Taijah Jones with a time of 52.53.
- The freshman Braun ran a time of 46.42 to place third in the men's 400m race. His time moves him to eighth on USC's indoor 400m list.
- The women's 4x400m relay team of graduate student Bailey Lear, Jan'Taijah Jones, junior Jasmine Jones and Mallard had a time of 3:29.81 to finish third. That time moves the quartet to eighth on the USC women's all-time indoor relay list.
- Graduate transfer Caisja Chandler took seventh in the women's 60m dash with a time of 7.46.
- Freshman Jada Foreman took eighth in the women's triple jump with a leap of 39-3.00 (11.96m).
- Other Trojans with PRs included freshman Takiya Cenci in the W-400m (54.87), junior Alyssa Blockburger in the W-400m (56.36), junior Jack Carter in the M-800m (1:51.35, 8th all-time by a Trojan), junior Josh Ligas in the one-mile (4:15.35) and senior Janiah Brown in the W-800m (2:07.53, 7th all-time by a Trojan).
