THIS YEAR: Graduate student Caisja Chandler is in her first season on the USC track and field team, after transferring from Cincinnati. She holds the Cincinnati outdoor records in the 100m and 200m and the indoor records in the 60m and 200m.
BEFORE USC: At Cincinnati: 2022: . Won the American 100m title with a time of 11.33 (-0.1) and the 200m title at 22.88...finished 24th at the East Prelims in the 100m (11.80) and 10th in the 200m prelims (22.85). She set her 400m PR of 56.32 at the Oliver Nikoloff Invite on April 1. 2021: Placed 19th in the 100m and 14th in the 200m at the NCAA Championships. Set her 100m PR of 11.26 (+0.0) in placing 11th and her 200m PR of 22.79 (+0.5) to place sixth at the East Preliminary Rounds. She finished third in the 100m (11.28) and second in the 200m (22.85) at the American Championships. 2020: Indoors, she placed second in the 60m (7.35) and second in the 200m (23.22) at the American Indoor Championships. Set her 60m PR of 7.30 at the Music City Challenge. During the summer won a gold medal with the USA 4x100m relay at the Pan Am U20s. 2019: Finished 22nd in the 200m with a time of 23.41 at the NCAA Championships. Was eighth in the 200m (22.97) and 15th in the 100m (11.43) at the East Preliminary Rounds. She was third in the 100m (11.30) and second in the 200m (23.15) at the American Championships. She took sixth in the 60m (7.49) and second in the 200m (23.52) at the American Indoor Championships. Named the American Athletic Conference indoor and outdoor Freshman of the Year.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2018 graduate of Euclid HS in Euclid, Ohio. Ran 23.24 in the 200m to post the second-fastest time in the history of the state of Ohio and finished her senior year ranked No. 7 nationally with that time. Also broke the regional record in the event with her run of 23.59. Placed in the Top 8 of the state nine times in her career, including five times outdoors and four indoor. Placed second in the state in the 200m as a senior. Indoor, placed 3rd at 60m and 2nd at 200m in her senior season. Won the sprint double at the conference meet as a freshman, sophomore and senior. Added the conference crown in the 200m as a junior and was second in the 100m at that meet. Captured three regional crowns. Competed in the 2018 Midwest Meet of Champions and won the sprint double (100m-200m). Broke four school records, including the 100m, 200m, 4x100m and 4x200m. Also named her team’s MVP three times.
PERSONAL: Chandler was born June 18, 2000 in Cleveland…Her mother is Carmen…Aspires to continue her athletic career after graduation...She is getting her master's in Digital Media Management.
