THIS YEAR:Â Sophomore Malik Mixon is in his second year on the USC track and field team.
PERSONAL: Malik was born August 22, 2003 in College Park, Ga… His parents are Gloria Mixon and Ronnie Smith, and he has one sister, Zora MIxon…He enjoys watching anime and exploring the local cuisine…Lists his former coach Tim Simon as his biggest sports hero, because he ran the 400 meter professionally and taught him a lot of life lessons and gave him inspiration for the sport…He aspires to continue his sports career postgraduately…He is majoring in Communication. Â

CAREER BESTS:  110m H – 13.27        400m H – 51.90
2023: Mixon did not compete indoors and then injury limited him to one outdoor meet. He ran a 22.51 (+0.0) 200m time at the Aztec Invitational on March 25. He then was injured and missed the remainder of the season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Mixon, from Atlanta, Ga., is a 2022 graduate of Westlake HS in Atlanta, Ga who owns PRs of 13.27 in the 110m hurdles and 51.90 in the 400m hurdles, making him one of the greatest double hurdlers to ever have come out of the high school ranks. In 2022, his 300m hurdle time of 35.84 led all high schoolers. He won the 110m hurdles at the U.S. U20 Championships with a time of 13.28w. He was named the Georgia 2021 Gatorade Boy’s Track & Field Athlete of the Year.
