THIS YEAR: Senior Omotade “Tade” Ojora will be in his fifth season of competing in the hurdles for the USC track and field team. He is the USC freshman record-holder in the 110m hurdles. He ranks fifth on USC's all-time 110m hurdles list and ninth on its 60m hurdles list.
2022: Ojora scored at the NCAA Championships in the 110m hurdles for the second consecutive season, placing eighth with a time of 13.58 (+0.0) on June 10. He had a season-best wind-legal time of 13.48 twice, at the NCAA semifinals and the first round of the NCAA Preliminary rounds. He placed second in the 110m hurdles at the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 13.53 (+0.1). He won his second consecutive British Athletics 110m hurdles title with a time of 13.27 (+3.8w) on June 25. He won his third Dual Meet 110m hurdles title with a time of 13.76 (-0.9) on May 1...also took second in the 400m hurdles with a PR of 57.58.
2021: Ojora won his first two 110m hurdles races of the season, the Trojan and Aztec Invitationals, and won his second consecutive USC-UCLA Dual Meet. He placed third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.74 (+1.1) at the Pac-12 Championships. Advanced out of the West Prelims in fifth with a time of 13.58 (+1.1), after running a wind-aided personal best of 13.52 (+3.0) in the quarterfinals. Placed sixth in the 110m hurdles at the NCAA Championships with a collegiate-best time of 13.57 (-0.6). Ojora placed second at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet in his first career 400m hurdles race, finishing with a time of 58.18. Ojora won the British Athletics 110m hurdles title with a PR of 13.38 (-1.0), but fell 0.06 seconds short of the Olympic qualifying standard.
2020: He did not compete indoors but won the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.01 (+1.2) at the Beach Opener during the outdoor season, before the remainder of the season was shutdown due to COVID-19.
2019: He won his first two collegiate 110m hurdles races, running 13.80 (+1.0) at the Trojan Invitational and 14.16 (-0.4) at the Power 5 Challenge. He had a season-best of 13.68 (+1.2) to set the USC freshman record and win the 110m hurdles at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet. He took second in the hurdles at the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 13.75 (+0.0) and finished tied for 14th at the NCAA West Prelims with a time of 13.99 (+0.5). He set a 200m PR of 21.45 (+1.0) in placing sixth at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet. He had an indoor 60m hurdles best of 7.96 at the Tyson Invitational which moved him to ninth on USC's all-time 60m hurdles list. During the summer he placed second in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.2 (-1.9) at the England Athletics Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL: Ojora is a 2018 graduate of Eton College in Berkshire, England. He had a 110m best of 13.54 to win the senior boys title at the English School Championships and set the championship record in the event. He also has PRs of 10.7 in the 100m and 21.5 in the 200m set in 2016. Also competed in soccer and rugby in high school. His rugby team placed second at the Rosslyn Park 7s, the world’s largest school rugby tournament.
PERSONAL: Omotade was born on October 14, 1999 in London, England…His parents are Ngozi and Adeyinka Ojora…His mother competed in the triple jump in college…Tade has three sisters, Tobi, Temi and Tami…Tobi is currently a student at USC…His favorite movie is Scarface and favorite television shows are Game of Thrones, Love Island and Iron Fist…Lists his favorite musical artists as Skepta, Octavian, Jorja Smith, Davido, Wizkid, Notes, Drake, Jay Z, 50 Cent, Rick Ross and Meek Mill…He was president of the African Society, organizes and chairs meetings and invites speakers of African descent to talk to the club…His is an undeclared major at USC.
