
USC Rowing Ready to Race at Pac-12 Championship

LOS ANGELES – The USC women's rowing team travels to Lowell, Oregon this Sunday, May 14, to compete in the 2023 Pac-12 Championship.
In the 2022 Pac-12 Championship, USC placed fifth overall with a total of 22 points. The Varsity Eight finished fifth with a time of 06:26.147. The Second Varsity Eight also finished fifth with a time of 06:40.036. The Third Varsity Eight finished fourth with a time of 06:44.720. The Varsity Four had the best finish of the championship with a third-place finish with a time of 07:10.685. The last time that USC won the Pac-12 Championship was in 2007.
The Trojans are competing in four of the Pac-12 categories: the Varsity Four, the Varsity Eight, the Second Varsity Eight, and the Third Varsity Eight. Each boat will only race once on Sunday, May 14. All USC boats will be competing against Washington State, California, Stanford, UCLA, Oregon State, and Washington.Â

The USC Third Varsity Eight will kick off racing as they hit the water at 9:20 a.m. Following the Varsity Four, the Varsity Four will race at 9:50 a.m. Then the Second Varsity Eight will compete at 10:10 a.m. Finally, the Varsity Eight will finish racing at 10:30 a.m.

The Pac-12 champion will be determined by a point system. Placement in each race has a pre-determined number of points that will be awarded to the respective finisher. The team with the most points if crowned the Pac-12 Champion. For the full point system, see the chart below. Should there be a tie, the finish in the Varsity Eight will be utilized as a tiebreaker.
